Sonically, “Dakan” sees Orchestra Gold stepping firmly into its own as a bridge between disparate worlds: psychedelic rock, and the traditions of West Africa. The music is undeniably Malian, and it rocks - pretty hard. It’s spiritual, even transcendent, and edgy. It’s dancey and psychedelic. Bringing together deep grooves, cosmic guitar licks and a deliciously punchy, and fat horn section, OG moves you into communion with the beyond.
