ORCHESTRA GOLD

...we’re throwing a special celebration for the release of our latest album, “DAKAN” — a tour de force that bridges psychedelic rock with the traditions of mali in a way you’ve never quite heard before.

“DAKAN” dives deep into psychedelia. it’ll also rock your pants off, keep you dancing ‘til sunrise. cosmic guitars. gritty, beautiful horn lines. infectious grooves. and mariam channeling something raw and ancient from deep within the human spirit.

… and — it’s about more than music.
this record champions a world where variety isn’t just the spice of life — it’s the source of our strength.

it’s about what happens when different identities converge with shared purpose. when we create a space where belonging isn't theoretical — it’s felt in your body.

this event is an invitation to experience that world.
just for a day.

DIYANYE KO TE SA

Diyanye Ko Te Sa’ means “desire is unquenchable” in the native Malian language of Orchestra GOLD’s singer-songwriter Mariam Diakite — and the sonic choices of the song amplify that sentiment. From the horns to the dusty percussion that punctuates the record’s craze, there’s a rich feeling of attraction that permeates this record.
— Emmanuel Esomnofu, OkayAfrica

COMBO TEZETA

Based out of the Bay Area, Combo Tezeta plays a blend of instrumental cumbias, chichas and musica tropical inspired by the late 60’s and early 70’s era of psychedelic Peru. Layering the reverb fueled sounds of surf onto the foundations of cumbia, the band’s focus is to highlight the rich melodies and hypnotic rhythms birthed from the Afro-Latin diaspora. Along with their appreciation of world music and it’s diverse cultures, Combo Tezeta’s goal is to deliver the sounds and musical echos of the past to the present.
“...pure fire... I want to see [Orchestra Gold] so bad”
— BOB BOILEN, former HOST of ALL SONGS CONSIDERED / NPR TINY DESK
